A journey of Innovative Sound Experience

Exploration of music, cutting-edge sound technology, style and expertise. immersed myself in diverse music genres,
looking for a way to publish and share music, without a label-contract, in 1990 that was a challenge and costly, distribution was the major bottleneck.

About iSpecialMusic

Music was my First love

that is how it started, growing up with Beethoven and Louis Armstrong, Django Reinhardt, finally got me a transistor-radio so I could listen to pop and rock.

We had 2 Tv channels, and 1 from an former oil-rig in the North Sea. Later on also German and Belgium TV, in the Netherlands, where I grew up, born 1960 in the town of Hilversum, which is the home of Dutch Broadcasting since its existence.

The famous "Wisseloord" recording studios are here as well, with brilliant acoustics. Philips made great efforts to get it right. (colleagues of my father, also Philips, were involved in it.)

All the major Radio broadcasters had their radio/ TV studios in town. Close by, Loosdrecht, lots of Jazz. Baambrugge, where the Beach boys recorded "Holland".

My friends started a band, we were 16, my " talent" promoted me to the photographer...
Later on from Reggae to Blues band, from percussion to keyboard to Bluesharp ( my personal fav.)

Midi, the music revolutionary tool for musicmakers, opened a whole range of options.
The Internet was not born yet, so distribution/sharing/email...
was almost impossible.
For independent artists, without commercial success to back it up, it was a hard time letting yourself heard, and costly, and had to have "the right connections".

Having severe health issues in the past, preventing me to go out and about, makes today's connectivity and (music)gear,
it is possible to be expressive and get a message out.
(the tech is a tool, not the goal, because that is great music)

Learned a lot from my musical friends, to listen better, played me the most wonderful music and met great artists.

So, now showcasing my own music, from my friends, so that more people can enjoy it.
That is why I did start iSpecialMusic in the first place.
The modern era in music gear and tech, with AI, makes the composing process totally different.
Not all change is for the better, but it is here already...

Will the independent artist be free enough and capable enough to make beautiful art and digitize it, publish, promote and sell it. Is the online model more fair than a label??

This is also the home of my alter egos, the Gentleman's Agreement (a varying composition of people), plus
Dr. Preset and DJ Shopfie.

So my music and my friends, all can have a home, to be found and heard by everyone.
